Sindkhed Raja

Lakhuji Jadhav’s Palace in Sindkhed Raja is one of the most revered place in Maratha history as it is the birthplace of Rajmata Jijabai, mother of Maratha Warrior King Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Various other monuments like Moti Talao, Rang Mahal, Lakhuji Jadhav Memorial and Neelkantheshwar Temple are famous tourist attractions. The hall where Jijabai and Shahaji Bhosale indulged in the game of Rangpanchami as children and where Lakhuji Jadhav pronounced them as an excellent match for each other is still in good condition. The Nilkantheshwar Temple devoted to Lord Shiva is also a popular site with two Nandis greeting devotees in front of the temple.
