Paunar

Paunar in Wardha district; about 220 kilometers from Akola is known for Brahma Vidya Mandir set up by Achraya Vinoba Bhave in 1959. It was set up as a community of women who follow Gandhian principles of non-violence and self-sustenance. About 25-30 women live in this ashram.  It also showcases numerous sculptures and excavations belonging to Wakataka dynasty that were recently discovered.
